Let nature nurture creativity and inspire curiosity
Nurturing Foundations is the perfect blend of home setting and learning center with an emphasis on outdoor learning experiences. A low child to teacher ratio allows for more meaningful child focused interactions. Nurturing Foundations offers a more personalized learning experience for your child. NF uses a play-based and child directed curriculum allowing your child’s interests to foster their learning. NF uses the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards to guide the design and implementation of curriculum, assessment and instructional practices with your child.
Nurturing Foundations is for children ages 3-5 years old. Nurturing Foundations can have a maximum of six students. This allows for more individualized learning experiences tailored to meet each child's developmental needs.
Nurturing Foundations is a 9-month program starting in September and ending in May. Monday to Thursday 8-11:30 (3 or 4 days a week). Extended care options are available from 11:30-4:30 with 30 minute early drop off (7:30) and late pick up (5:00) available.
Nurturing Foundations is located in the lower level of my home. We have an indoor classroom and use the outside natural playscape as our second classroom. We are located in Milford, OH, 5 minutes off of 275 exit 57. We are off a private drive.
It has been a long time dream to create a small preschool program built on components I believe to be integral to a healthy childhood and future success in elementary school and beyond. I moved to Milford with my husband in 2020 and we began working to turn my preschool dream into a reality. In late summer 2022, the lower level remodel was complete and Nurturing Foundations came to fruition. Working with children brings me joy. It is fascinating watching young children grow and build an understanding of the world around them.
Children learn about the natural world through hands on experiences with nature. When children create memories associated with nature, they are more likely to grow up caring about nature and wanting to protect it. I hope Nurturing Foundations will help to create a kinder future generation, that will strive to make the world a better place for all.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education degree (early childhood birth to 5) and an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Care and Education degree. I have over 15 years of experience working with young children from sitter to nanny to Head Start pre-K teacher.
